Well, it's about time!

I am still here.  The last 2 weeks have been a whirlwind for me.  I had a really really bad week.  Like super bad....just not pleasant to be around.  This week has been much better.  Some sad things have happened for sure...it seems daily lately.  I am really trying to see the goodness in all things good and bad.  The key word is "trying."

Anyways, we may or may not have carved pumpkins in November.  We didn't get to it before the 31st and I was really hoping the kids would be ok with that.  We had a few really warm days in the beginning of November (in the 70's).  The kids came home from school one day and were begging to carve pumpkins.  It was so nice outside that is was the perfect situation...you guys carve outside and make the mess outside!  Yahoo!  Wanna know something else really awesome...?  This was the 1st year I didn't have to help!!!!  They actually carved all 7 pumpkins 100% by themselves.  From prep to clean up I wasn't involved.  I took some pictures and squashed a few outbreaks between kids...but other than that...it was all them!

I am airing on Fox 6 Real Milwaukee THIS Thursday for DIY hostess gifts....here is a sneak peak!
G-dog had his last football game two Saturday's ago.  It was FREEZING cold AND raining.  It was horrible.  Dan was on ballet duty that day which left me to football spectating.  My toes were freezing and I couldn't feel them.  About 3/4 of the way through the game when I couldn't feel my toes and was soaking wet I yelled to Gavin "Hey buddy, I am going to go start the car for you so it will be nice and warm for you when you are done."  Boom.... I got to go warm up while warming up the car for him.  See what I did there?!?!?!   Well, that freezing cold football game gave me a horrible sinus infection and Pink eye at the same time.  That knocked me out for a few days!
We went trick or treating with some friends.  Um.  Yeah.  We got a lot of candy.  Don't worry...Dan is eating most of the Recess Peanut butter cups and snicker bars for them!    (FYI...all costumes came from goodwill this year at 50% off!!)  SCORE!~!

Even though my dear friend is miles and miles and states away, she knew I needed a pick me up last week.  I was shocked to get some flowers to brighten my day.  Dan didn't even notice I had flowers sitting right next to the sink until 4 days later.  That is Dan for you!
I hosted two private sessions this past weekend.  One birthday party and one mom's group.  What a blast we had!  I simply cannot believe the creativeness everyone has!!  Even the one's that say " I am not crafty" leave with amazing works of art!!

Our oldest sang in church this past Sunday with another student.  They sounded so beautiful together.  It truly was music to my ears!
The kids set up a restaurant for Dan and myself on Sunday.  They wanted to give us a "break." They set up the kitchen and lit candles.  A few of them got dressed up because they were the waitresses.  It was really super sweet.  We had a menu of items to choose from : hot sandwich, eggs, bacon, carrots, pickles, broccoli, chips, salsa, milk, chocolate milk or water.  It was perfect.  They really are such sweet kids.
I found these sink drains at Marshalls on clearance for $2.00.  Why, yes, we will take a pig and a chicken sink drain!!  It might make the hours I spend at the kitchen sink each day a little more enjoyable.
After almost a year and a half of foot pain, I went back to a foot doctor today.  I AM going to get rid of this foot pain once and for all!  I am praying this specialist will help me get back to being pain free and able to put pressure on my foot again!  Super nice group of ladies working there and a really good doctor.  I am pretty sure I found my long lost sister there today (we had so many similarities....can you see them?) ;)  We had a fun time and it made the visit enjoyable.  I'll be back in 2 weeks ladies....brace yourselves.
Oops.....another sneaksy peaksy of Thursday's segment.  These are the best things EVER!!

And this picture pretty much sums up our life.  Kids constantly eating in the kitchen.  Crafting supplies everywhere.  One kid picking his nose.  Dirty dishes in the sink.  Lights left on in all rooms. This is when I have to remind myself on how incredibly blessed I am.  Focus on the good and not the negative.  See the goodness in all situations.  Like I said, I am a work in progress.

And just to keep things super real  ( I am an open book and hide nothing) I totally just forgot to pick my daughter up from basketball practice.  Sure did.  I was only 15 minutes late, but I 100% forgot about her and needing to pick her up.  All of the other kids are sound asleep in bed and I am blogging away....and then it happens.  I look at the clock on the computer and see it is 9:07.  It took me a second to realize I needed to pick her up at 9:00 and remember I had to even pick her up.  Yup....that is real life here on the farmstead!
